Four principles guide our work
Testing with people
Evaluate real tasks with people of determination using their own devices and assistive technology. Their experience helps us understand the effect of barriers.
Specialist validation
Find barriers through manual testing and verify automated findings. We choose methods that fit the service and the agreed scope.
Evidence for action
Document findings with impact, severity, reproduction steps and supporting evidence, so your team can understand and address them.
Knowledge transfer
Provide editable tools and guidance so teams can apply findings and continue the work. We make space to explain recommendations and answer questions.
An agreed path from scope to handover
Define the work
Agree objectives, users, languages, platforms and applicable standards, including the edition, conformance level, responsibilities and evidence required.
Evaluate and collaborate
Carry out the agreed work, discuss findings and help teams understand priorities and next steps.
Review and continue
Review relevant changes within scope, record the current position and hand over guidance for continued progress.
Clarity about what has been assessed
Reports identify the standards and editions assessed, the scope and methods, and the findings and limitations. This can include WCAG, PDF/UA, UAE requirements, EN 301 549 or Section 508, according to the engagement. We explain how technical findings support broader compliance work and what further evaluation is needed.
Explore standards and compliance. We apply the same clarity to our own website accessibility statement.
Work with the people who will use the findings
Accessibility work involves different responsibilities. A product owner may set priorities, a designer may change an interaction, a developer may implement it and a content team may maintain the information. We agree how these people will participate and how decisions will be recorded.
Early discussions help identify practical dependencies: access to an environment, representative documents, available subject specialists or an upcoming release. Making these visible keeps the engagement connected to the work your team can carry out.
From an observation to useful evidence
A finding should explain the task, the barrier and its effect. We record the relevant environment and steps needed to reproduce it, then describe the accessible behaviour the team should work towards. Findings are prioritised with attention to user impact.
Manual evaluation and automated checks contribute different information. Specialist validation helps determine whether an automated result is relevant and what it means in context. Participation by people of determination adds evidence about the experience of completing real tasks.
The handover is a working conversation. We explain the findings, agree the approach to questions and verification, and provide the relevant editable tools and guidance so your team can continue the work.
Support that can continue with your programme
Some engagements address a defined product or set of documents. Others need ongoing assurance, training or policy work alongside the initial assessment. We agree that relationship explicitly, including responsibilities and review points, so the next stage has a clear purpose.
