A policy states the obligation. It does not tell a developer what to write, a designer what to specify or a tester what to fail a service for.<\/p><p>We authored the <strong>UAE A11y Code<\/strong>: a single reference every federal entity, and every supplier working for one, can design, build and test against. It was delivered in Arabic and English, and it reaches past websites to the platforms public services actually run on.<\/p><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"ax-content-section\"><h2 class=\"ax-title-2\" id=\"scope\">What the guidance covers<\/h2><ul class=\"ax-grid ax-grid--2\"><li class=\"ax-feature\"><span class=\"ax-card__symbol\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><span class=\"ax-icon ax-icon--laptop ax-feature__icon\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/span><\/span><h3 class=\"ax-feature__title\">Responsive web<\/h3><p class=\"ax-feature__text\">Websites and hybrid applications, including content structure, information architecture and localisation.<\/p><\/li><li class=\"ax-feature\"><span class=\"ax-card__symbol\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><span class=\"ax-icon ax-icon--mobile ax-feature__icon\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/span><\/span><h3 class=\"ax-feature__title\">Native mobile<\/h3><p class=\"ax-feature__text\">iOS and Android, where a single requirement has a different implementation on each platform.<\/p><\/li><li class=\"ax-feature\"><span class=\"ax-card__symbol\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><span class=\"ax-icon ax-icon--document ax-feature__icon\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/span><\/span><h3 class=\"ax-feature__title\">Electronic documents<\/h3><p class=\"ax-feature__text\">PDF and office formats, from reading order to the structure a document needs before assistive technology can convey it.<\/p><\/li><li class=\"ax-feature\"><span class=\"ax-card__symbol\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><span class=\"ax-icon ax-icon--money ax-feature__icon\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/span><\/span><h3 class=\"ax-feature__title\">Self-service terminals<\/h3><p class=\"ax-feature__text\">Kiosks and cash machines, where physical reach and on-screen interaction have to answer together.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p>Audio, video and digital content are covered inside each of these rather than as a volume of their own, because that is where the teams responsible for them meet the requirement.<\/p><\/section>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"ax-content-section ax-editorial\"><h2 class=\"ax-title-2\" id=\"method\">How a requirement is written<\/h2><div><p>\u201cHeadings must convey structure\u201d tells a team what to want. It does not tell them what to do, and it gives two testers no way to agree on whether a service has done it.<\/p><p>Every requirement is written as a testable specification, expressed once for each platform, and graded: what <strong>must<\/strong> be done to conform, what <strong>should<\/strong> be done, and what is preferred. The grading is the part that scales \u2014 it is what lets a tester in one entity and a tester in another reach the same severity for the same failure.<\/p><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"ax-content-section ax-editorial\"><h2 class=\"ax-title-2\" id=\"arabic\">WCAG 2.2, in Arabic<\/h2><div><p>Guidance in English alone reaches a fraction of the people who have to apply it. Alongside the framework we produced an Arabic version of WCAG 2.2 as an unofficial translation, which is the honest description: the W3C operates a separate process for authorised translations, and this does not claim to be one.<\/p><p>It prioritises clarity over literal rendering, and it was reviewed by translators who work in technical documentation and know accessibility, rather than by general translators alone. A criterion that is technically accurate and unreadable has not been translated.<\/p><p>It uses the UAE Design System, so it reads as part of the national platform rather than a document attached to it.<\/p><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"ax-content-section ax-editorial\"><h2 class=\"ax-title-2\" id=\"lens\">A11y Lens<\/h2><div><p>Guidance only counts where people act on it. A11y Lens sits in a federal entity\u2019s own website, reports a page against WCAG 2.2 Level AA, and points at the part of the Code that answers the issue in hand. Scores feed the national dashboard; the findings stay with the entity that owns the service.<\/p><p>The widget itself conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA and works in Arabic and English.
